We offer sessions to juniors (school yr 3+4), Intermediates, known as ‘Inters’, (school yr 5, 6 and 7) and the majority of our sessions are for Seniors (school yr 8 plus). The Centre has a coffee bar / internet facility which is open every session, a disco room, pool/snooker room, art and craft room, Wii machines, BFBS television, a floodlit basketball court, hairdressing facilities, floodlit 5 a side pitch and is the only Youth Club to have a Laser Quest playing area. The Laser Quest is run by a committee of Senior members and is available during most Youth Club sessions for an additional €1 charge. The weekly senior sessions include open youth club sessions, where a variety of activities, workshops and projects are on offer, or if you prefer, you can simply come and have a chat with friends over a can of coke or a kick around on the football pitch. We have a weekly senior member training session, where the group works on leadership skills preparing them for running the Laser Quest facility or running activities in our junior sessions. Youth achievement awards are also offered as is a weekly netball coaching session. Each month the members choose a trip venue (or 3) where we will organise and visit local places of interest or attractions such as top restaurants, water parks and shopping venues. Activities such as diving, gliding and rock climbing have all recently been included in our programme The atmosphere in the Youth Centre is one that welcomes everyone in a warm, comfortable and supportive environment. The staff will encourage you to take as much of a role as you wish to in the running of the club and in the activities and will support everyone as individuals - giving information and support as requested or needed. All staff work confidentially and will only share information if you are in danger of harm or you are putting others in danger. If you would like more information, please contact Lynne Everett, the Area Youth and Community worker by phone or E-mail as above.
